Vinted Fee Calculator UK: What Sellers Keep and What Buyers Pay

Vinted takes no fee from UK sellers on a standard sale, so you keep the full item price. The buyer pays the Vinted fee, usually 3% to 8% of the price plus 30p to 80p.

Vinted doesn't charge UK sellers anything on a normal sale: if your item sells for £20, you receive £20. The fee is paid by the buyer, and Vinted says it is usually between 3% and 8% of the item price plus 30p to 80p.

This Vinted fee calculator shows your payout and estimates what the buyer pays. Because Vinted publishes a range rather than one formula, you can switch between a low, middle and high estimate.

Does Vinted charge sellers?

No. UK sellers pay £0 on a standard sale, and Vinted's own help page says there are still no selling fees. Vinted fees in the UK fall on the buyer, who pays the item price, the buyer fee and postage. You get the item price.

The only things a seller can pay for are optional extras for visibility, such as Bumps and the wardrobe Showcase. Vinted doesn't publish set prices for those; the cost depends on duration and item price and is shown before you pay.

The Vinted fee, renamed in October 2026

Until recently this was called the Buyer Protection fee. On 8 October 2026 Vinted's updated UK terms renamed it the "Vinted fee". Vinted says the calculation hasn't changed and sellers still pay nothing, so the rename makes no difference to your earnings.

So the calculator above still works as a Vinted Buyer Protection fee calculator. Pick the low, middle or high estimate and it shows what the buyer pays on top of your price.

How to work out Vinted fees

Take 3% to 8% of the item or bundle price and add 30p to 80p. Vinted's price list gives exactly that range ("usually 3% to 8% + £0.3 to £0.8"), VAT included, with postage left out.

The exact rate depends on the item, the order value and whether it is a single item or a bundle. Vinted doesn't publish the rule that picks the rate, but each listing shows its own fee breakdown, and so does checkout. Here is the range on a £20 item:

  • Low end: 3% of £20 is 60p, plus 30p, so 90p.
  • Middle: 5% of £20 is £1, plus 70p, so £1.70.
  • High end: 8% of £20 is £1.60, plus 80p, so £2.40.

With £3.50 postage, the buyer pays somewhere between £24.40 and £25.90. You still get £20.

Using the middle estimate, buyer fees at different prices look like this. Your side of the table never changes:

Sale priceTotal feesFees as % of priceYou receive
£5.00£0.000.0%£5.00
£10.00£0.000.0%£10.00
£20.00£0.000.0%£20.00
£50.00£0.000.0%£50.00
£100.00£0.000.0%£100.00

Sellers keep the full item price. The buyer pays the Vinted fee and postage on top.

Vinted's app tells buyers that a lower negotiated price can mean a higher fee, so cheaper items likely sit nearer the top of the range. The price points where that happens aren't published.

Is there a flat 3% fee on expensive items?

You may see claims that UK orders over £500 pay a flat 3%. That rule doesn't appear on any current official Vinted page, so this calculator doesn't use it. If you are selling something expensive, open the listing as a buyer would and read the breakdown.

Vinted fees outside the UK

The fee works the same way in other countries, but Vinted quotes it differently. Its US price list says the fee is usually 5% plus $0.70, including sales tax. In France, as an example of the EU sites, it is usually 5% plus €0.70 with VAT included. In every case the seller pays nothing on a standard sale, and the word "usually" means the exact fee can still vary by item.

Optional buyer extras

Some charges are chosen by the buyer and paid by them:

ExtraPrice (UK)
Item Verification£10, eligible items only
Electronics Verification£5, eligible electronics only
PostageDepends on the carrier and parcel size the buyer picks

None of these touch your payout either.

Pricing on Vinted when you pay no fee

Since the platform takes nothing from you, your price is your take-home before postage costs. That changes the maths compared with apps that charge sellers:

  • A £15 item on Vinted gives you £15. On Depop UK the same price leaves you about £14.27 after processing.
  • Buyers see the fee on top, so a £10 listing costs them somewhere between £10.60 and £11.60 before postage. Keep that in mind when you compare your price with similar listings.
  • Accepting a lower offer can push the buyer's fee up, which some buyers will notice at checkout.

To run your own prices through both apps, use the Depop vs Vinted comparison.

Common questions

How much does Vinted take from sellers in the UK?

Nothing on a standard sale. You receive the full agreed item price.

What does the buyer pay in fees on a £10 Vinted item?

Using the published range, the fee falls between 60p (3% plus 30p) and £1.60 (8% plus 80p). The listing shows the exact amount.

Does Vinted charge its fee on postage?

No. It is a percentage of the item or bundle price plus a fixed amount. Postage is paid separately.

Is the Vinted fee the same as Buyer Protection?

Yes. It was renamed on 8 October 2026 and Vinted says the calculation is unchanged.

Why did my buyer pay more than my price?

Because Vinted's buyer fee and postage are added on top at checkout. Your listing price is what you receive.
