Processing covers the item price, the postage the buyer pays you and any taxes on the order. It is taken once per transaction, so a bundle pays a single 30p.

Depop dropped the 10% selling fee for UK sellers in 2024. Australia followed in July 2026, and the Depop fee calculator for Australia has the rates there.

These are the payouts with no postage added and no boost:

Sale priceTotal feesFees as % of priceYou receive
£5.00£0.458.9%£4.56
£10.00£0.595.9%£9.41
£20.00£0.884.4%£19.12
£50.00£1.753.5%£48.25
£100.00£3.203.2%£96.80

Default settings, no sales tax, no optional fees.

A £5 sale loses about 45p, close to 9% of the price, mostly because of the 30p. At £50 the fees are £1.75, which is 3.5%.

Worked example: £20 item, £3.50 postage

You list a band tee at £20 and charge £3.50 postage, then post it yourself.

  • Processing base: £23.50.
  • 2.9% of £23.50 is 68p. Add 30p and the fee is 98p.
  • Depop pays out £22.52.
  • After you pay £3.50 at the Post Office, £19.02 is left from the tee.

If a buyer found it through your boost, add 12% of £23.50 (because you arranged the postage yourself), which is £2.82. Your payout drops to £19.70 before postage.

How the Depop boosting fee works in the UK

The Depop boosting fee in the UK went up from 8% to 12% for listings boosted from 23 March 2026. Nothing is charged when you switch a boost on. The fee only lands when someone viewed or tapped the boosted tile and bought within the next 28 days.

It is charged on the item price without tax. Postage is added to the base only for items you post yourself, so a sale sent on a Depop Shipping label pays boosting on the item price alone. Refunds reverse the fee.

Depop's own Boosted Listings Policy uses "3.3% + £0.45" in a UK example. That looks like the US rate copied across. The UK fees table says 2.9% + £0.30, which is what this calculator uses.

The Depop Marketplace fee in the UK

Since 15 April 2024, UK buyers pay a Marketplace fee at checkout. Depop sets it at up to 5% of the item price plus up to £1, leaving out postage and tax. You never see it in your payout; it sits on top of your price.

A few details matter if you sell bundles. The 5% part is worked out on the combined price of everything in the bundle, while the £1 part is charged once for the whole order. If the order is refunded, the buyer gets the Marketplace fee back.

So a £20 item costs the buyer at most £22 plus postage. The exact figure is shown to the buyer at checkout and can be lower than that ceiling.

Bundles: one fee instead of three

Say a buyer bundles three pieces at £8, £10 and £12 and pays £4.50 postage. Depop treats it as one transaction:

  • Your processing: 2.9% of £34.50 is £1.00, plus a single 30p, so £1.30.
  • The buyer's Marketplace fee: up to 5% of £30 plus one £1, so at most £2.50.

Sold separately, the same three items would carry three 30p charges for you and three £1 charges for the buyer. Offering a bundle discount often costs you less than it looks, because both sides save on the fixed parts.

Depop UK compared with Vinted

Both apps put their main fee on the buyer. The difference is that Depop still takes processing from the seller, while Vinted takes nothing at all from a standard sale.

Numbers on Vinted are explained on the Vinted fee calculator, and Depop vs Vinted puts both payouts side by side for any price.

Ways UK sellers cut their Depop costs

  • Group items into bundles, since 30p is charged per transaction rather than per item.
  • Leave boosting off for pieces that already get likes and offers quickly.
  • Check what you charge for postage against what Royal Mail or your courier actually costs you; undercharging costs more than the 2.9%.
  • Avoid very cheap single listings where 30p eats a big share. A £3 item loses about 39p.
