Depop Fee Calculator Australia: Fees After the Switch to Free Selling

Since 22 July 2026 Depop charges Australian sellers no selling fee. You pay 2.6% plus A$0.30 in payment processing, and 8% extra when a boosted listing sells.

Depop fees in Australia now come down to 2.6% of each order plus A$0.30, and that's it unless the item was boosted. The 10% selling fee was scrapped on 22 July 2026, so older fee guides for Australia are now wrong by a wide margin.

To use this Depop fee calculator for Australia, enter a sale price and the shipping your buyer pays. It returns the processing fee and the payout Depop sends you. Add what you paid for the item and your postage cost to see profit, margin and ROI, or switch to "What price to list at" to work back from the take-home you want.

What changed on 22 July 2026

Before that date Depop took 10% of every Australian sale on top of processing. A A$60 dress used to cost the seller A$6 in selling fee alone. Now that A$6 is gone.

In its place, buyers pay a Marketplace fee of up to 5% of the item price plus up to A$1. Depop calls these upper limits, and the actual amount is set at checkout. Shipping and tax are left out of the 5%.

Why buyers see a higher price than you set

This is the part that confuses Australian sellers. Depop shows Australian buyers a single price that already includes the Marketplace fee, with shipping listed separately. So if you list a skirt at A$20, a buyer may see up to A$22 on the listing.

Your payout is still based on your A$20. The fee-inclusive price is just how it's displayed. If a buyer messages saying your item is "A$22", that is the reason.

Depop doesn't say outright whether the processing fee is calculated before or after the buyer's Marketplace fee is added. This calculator applies processing to your price plus shipping, following Depop's written description of the base (item, shipping and any applicable tax).

Worked example: A$20 item, A$10 shipping

  1. Processing base: A$20 + A$10 = A$30.
  2. 2.6% of A$30 is A$0.78. Add A$0.30: the fee is A$1.08.
  3. Depop pays you A$28.92, then you pay for the postage.
  4. If the sale came from a boost and you organised the shipping yourself, add 8% of A$30, which is A$2.40. Payout falls to A$26.52.

The buyer, meanwhile, sees a listing price of up to A$22 plus A$10 shipping, so at most A$32 in total.

Boosting on Depop Australia

An 8% boosting fee is charged only when a buyer interacted with your boosted tile and bought the item within 28 days. Even a view of the tile counts. The fee is calculated on the item price without tax, and shipping is included only if you arrange your own; orders sent on a Depop Shipping label skip the shipping part. A refund cancels the fee.

At 8% boosting costs far less in Australia than in the UK or US. On a A$50 dress a boosted sale adds A$4, compared with A$6 at the 12% rate.

Is Depop worth it in Australia now?

On fees alone, Depop is now cheap for Australian sellers, with a lower processing rate than the UK (2.9%) or the US (3.3%). A A$50 sale with no shipping keeps A$48.40 after processing. Before July the same sale would have lost another A$5 to the selling fee.

Your real costs are postage and the time spent listing. On a cheap item, postage can easily cost more than every Depop fee combined, so price shipping carefully.

Sellers outside Australia, the UK and the US

The free-selling rules apply to sellers based in Australia, the UK and the US. Depop still lists a 10% selling fee for sellers in other countries, which is why you'll see that number in older or international guides. If your account is registered in Australia, the 10% no longer applies to you.

Bundles work in your favour too. Processing is charged once per transaction, so three items sold together pay one A$0.30, and the buyer's Marketplace fee has a single fixed part of up to A$1 rather than three.
