Depop Fee Calculator Canada: What Sellers Pay Depop and PayPal

This Depop fee calculator Canada page uses Depop's own fee table and PayPal's standard Canadian rate. Enter a price to see the fees and what you keep.

Depop fees in Canada are 10% of the item price, plus PayPal's fee for taking the payment. PayPal's standard rate for a sale inside Canada is 2.9% of the order plus C$0.30. On a C$50 item with no shipping, you pay C$6.75 and keep C$43.25. Canada still has the 10% fee. Depop only removed it in the US, the UK and Australia.

Enter your sale price and the shipping your buyer pays. The calculator shows each fee and your payout. Turn on boosting if the item sold through a boosted listing. Add what you paid for the item to see your profit.

Why PayPal takes a cut

Sellers in Canada get paid through PayPal, not Depop's own payment system. Depop says PayPal's fee "may vary depending on your location and PayPal account setup". So the calculator uses PayPal Canada's standard rate for a domestic sale. PayPal lists it as 2.9% plus C$0.30 on its business fees page.

Your own rate can be different. A buyer paying from another country can cost more, and so can a payment in another currency. Check the fee line on your PayPal activity after your first sale.

The Depop selling fees Canada sellers pay on shipping

How you ship changes the selling fee. With a Depop shipping label, the 10% is on the item price only. If you arrange postage yourself, the 10% covers the shipping too.

Say you sell a C$50 item and charge C$10 to post it yourself. The selling fee is 10% of C$60, which is C$6.00. PayPal takes C$1.74 plus C$0.30. Fees total C$8.04, and C$51.96 reaches you before you pay for postage. Put your real postage cost in the calculator to see profit after the parcel.

Boosting fee in Canada

Boosting is optional. Sellers outside the UK and the US pay 8% when a boosted listing sells. In the UK and the US the rate is 12%. The 8% is charged on the item price, plus shipping if you don't use a Depop label.

A boosted C$50 sale adds C$4.00, so fees rise to C$10.75 and you keep C$39.25. Only boost items where a faster sale is worth that extra cost.

Bundles: one PayPal fee, not several

When a buyer takes several items in one bundle, Depop charges its 10% on each item. The payment processing fee applies once per bundle. So PayPal's fixed C$0.30 is paid once, not once per item. Bundling cheap pieces is the easiest way to cut that fixed charge.

Do Canadian buyers pay a Depop fee?

No. Depop's Marketplace fee applies to buyers in the UK, the US and Australia. Buyers in Canada pay the item price, shipping and any tax. Your listed price is what they see before shipping and tax.
