How much are Grailed fees?
A Grailed sale carries two charges. Grailed's commission is 6% when the sale is under $120 (never less than $1.99) and 9% when it's $120 or more. Then the payment processor takes 3.49% plus $0.49 when the buyer is in the US, or 4.99% plus $0.49 when the buyer is overseas.
Together that comes to roughly 10% to 11% on most sales between $35 and $119, and between 12.5% and 13% on sales of $120 and up. This Grailed fee calculator handles both rates and the buyer's location. Pick "International" if the buyer is outside the US.
The rules the calculator applies:
| Fee | How it is charged (US) |
|---|---|
| Commission | 6% of the item price plus shipping (minimum $1.99). Sales under $120 (since 20 May 2026). |
| Commission | 9% of the item price plus shipping. Sales of $120 and up. |
| Payment processing | 3.49% of the item price plus shipping. US buyers, Stripe-onboarded sellers. |
| Payment processing | 4.99% of the item price plus shipping. International buyers. |
| Payment processing (fixed part) | $0.49 per order |
Grailed fees at common prices
These figures assume a US buyer, a seller who has finished Stripe onboarding, and a Grailed prepaid label (so shipping isn't part of the fee base):
| Sale price | Total fees | Fees as % of price | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25.00 | $3.35 | 13.4% | $21.65 |
| $50.00 | $5.24 | 10.5% | $44.77 |
| $100.00 | $9.98 | 10.0% | $90.02 |
| $119.00 | $11.78 | 9.9% | $107.22 |
| $120.00 | $15.48 | 12.9% | $104.52 |
| $250.00 | $31.72 | 12.7% | $218.29 |
Default settings, no sales tax, no optional fees.
A clean example: on a $100 jacket, the commission is $6.00 and processing is 3.49% of $100 plus $0.49, which is $3.98. Total fees $9.98, payout $90.02. On a $200 pair of boots, commission jumps to $18.00 and processing is $7.47, so you keep $174.53.
The Grailed 6% fee and the $120 cliff
The 6% rate started on May 20, 2026. Before that, every sale paid 9%. Now the lower rate covers anything under $120, while sales at $120 and above still pay 9%.
The rate applies to the whole price, not just the part above $120. That creates a cliff. Look at the $119 and $120 rows in the table: the $120 sale pays more than $3.50 extra in fees and leaves you with less money than the $119 sale. With a US buyer, you'd need to sell for about $124 before a 9% sale beats a $119 sale at 6%.
So if your piece is likely to go somewhere between $120 and $123, pricing it at $119 gets you more. Above roughly $124 the higher price wins again.
If you have a payout in mind rather than a price, switch the Grailed calculator to "What price to list at" and it works backwards to the listing price. Enter what you paid for the piece and it shows your profit, margin and ROI as well.
At the low end, the $1.99 minimum kicks in on anything below about $33.17, because 6% of $33.17 is $1.99. On a $20 sale, 6% would be $1.20, but Grailed charges $1.99 instead.
What the Grailed fee is charged on
Grailed calls the fee base the "sale price," and it changes with how you ship:
- With a Grailed Label: the listing price only. Shipping is left out.
- Shipping on your own label: the listing price plus the shipping the buyer paid.
That's a small but real reason to use Grailed's label. If you ship yourself and charge $15 shipping on a $100 item, the commission is figured on $115.
In the calculator, leave shipping at zero if you're using a Grailed Label. Add it if you're printing your own.
The same commission rates apply to domestic and international sales. Grailed is free for buyers, so there's no buyer fee pushing your item's price up at checkout.
The Grailed payment processing fee
Processing depends on where the buyer is and whether you've completed Stripe onboarding:
| Your setup | US buyer | International buyer |
|---|---|---|
| Onboarded with Stripe | 3.49% + $0.49 | 4.99% + $0.49 |
| In a Stripe country, not onboarded | 3.49% + $0.99 | 5.49% + $0.99 |
| Not in a Stripe country | 4.99% + $0.49 | |
The calculator uses the first row. If you haven't onboarded yet, finishing it saves $0.50 per sale on US orders and more on international ones.
Other costs that can come up
- Signature confirmation: US listings over $750 shipped with a Grailed Label get signature confirmation added automatically for $4.00. The buyer pays it, unless you offer free shipping, in which case it comes from you.
- VAT or GST on commission: sellers outside the US may be charged VAT or GST on Grailed's commission, depending on where they are, unless they provide a business VAT or GST number. US sellers don't pay this.
Grailed sometimes runs promotions such as discounted seller fees, and it has a Pro Seller Program. Neither has public rates, so the calculator uses the standard fees.
Selling sneakers? GOAT takes worn pairs too, with a 9.5% commission at a good seller rating; the GOAT fee calculator shows what you'd keep there.
Common questions
Is Grailed 6% or 9%?
Both. Since May 20, 2026, sales under $120 pay 6% (minimum $1.99) and sales of $120 or more pay 9%. Some older help articles still say 9% across the board, but Grailed's main fee page lists the two tiers.
What does Grailed take from a $50 sale?
$3.00 in commission plus about $2.24 in processing for a US buyer, roughly $5.24 in total. You keep about $44.77 (processing works out to a fraction of a cent, so rounding moves the last digit).
Does the buyer pay any Grailed fees?
No. Grailed doesn't charge buyers a fee. They pay the price, shipping and any sales tax.
Is Grailed cheaper than StockX for sneakers?
Often, yes, at least on fees. StockX charges a 9% transaction fee at its entry level plus 3% processing and $5 shipping to its warehouse. Run the same price through the StockX fee calculator or the all-platform comparison to see the gap.
