Is GOAT or StockX better for selling?
At standard settings neither side of GOAT vs StockX has a real fee advantage, so start with the settings that apply to you.
You've reached a higher StockX level. At Level 5 the transaction fee is 7%, so the $200 pair pays $175.00 on StockX. Regular sellers who climb the levels usually do better on StockX.
You can use drop-off or leave your balance on GOAT. With drop-off and no cash-out, GOAT keeps only its $19.00 commission and the $200 pair pays $181.00. If you buy on GOAT as well as sell, keeping the balance there avoids the 2.9%.
Your GOAT rating has slipped. Below 90 the commission jumps to 15%, and the $200 pair pays $160.22. Cancellations cost 10 rating points each, so a few problem orders can make StockX clearly the better choice until your rating recovers.
You're selling something cheap. StockX's $5 minimum transaction fee hits low prices. A $40 item pays $28.80 on StockX and $30.30 on GOAT.
Beyond the fees
Both apps check items before they reach the buyer, and both pay you after the sale goes through. StockX works like a market: you set an ask, and the sale happens when a buyer's bid meets it. GOAT lets you list at a price and also covers used pairs, which StockX mostly doesn't. If you're selling worn sneakers, GOAT or Grailed may suit you better. For new, high-demand pairs, check recent sale prices on both, because a small price difference matters more than the fees.
Goat or StockX: how to pick for one pair

- Put each price into the calculator above, with what you paid for the pair.
- Adjust for your own settings: your StockX level, whether you can use GOAT drop-off, and whether you'll cash out.
- Sell where you net more. If it's within a dollar or two, sell where the pair moves faster.
