TikTok Shop Fee Calculator UK: Fees and Commission

TikTok Shop UK takes a 9% commission, VAT included, on the item price plus the postage your customer pays. Electronics and selected beauty products pay 5%.

TikTok Shop UK charges sellers a 9% commission on each order, and that 9% already includes VAT. It is worked out on the item price plus the postage the customer pays, so a £25 product with £3 postage costs you £2.52.

Use the TikTok Shop fee calculator for the UK above to find your payout. If creators sell your products, add your affiliate rate as well, because that comes out of the same payout. Add what the product cost you and it shows profit, margin and ROI.

The 5% rate is a 4-point reduction that TikTok applies product by product. It only starts once your new-seller period has ended. TikTok keeps the full list of qualifying products in a spreadsheet on Seller University, so check your product there if you aren't sure which rate applies.

How TikTok works out the commission

The base is net sales plus customer-paid postage plus any discount TikTok funds, less refunded amounts. TikTok's own example: £80 of net sales, £5 postage and a £10 platform discount give a base of £95, and 9% of £95 is £8.55.

That example shows the catch with platform-funded vouchers. The customer paid £85 in total, but you pay commission on £95, because TikTok adds its own discount back. A discount you fund yourself works the other way and lowers the base.

Seller discounts versus TikTok vouchers

Here is the same £30 product with £3 postage, discounted two ways:

DiscountCommission base9% commission
You fund 10% off (£3)£30£2.70
TikTok funds a £3 voucher£33£2.97

With your own discount you also receive £3 less from the customer, so it isn't free. The point is that a TikTok voucher doesn't cut your commission, even though the customer pays less.

Is VAT added to TikTok Shop fees in the UK?

No, not on top. For sellers established in the UK, the 9% is VAT-inclusive and TikTok's invoice shows the 20% VAT inside it. Don't add another 20% when you work out your margins. Sellers based outside the UK are invoiced at 0% VAT under the reverse charge.

Worked example: £50 item, £5 postage

  • Commission base: £55.
  • 9% of £55 = £4.95, VAT included.
  • Payout before your postage costs: £50.05.
  • With a 15% creator commission on the £50 item price (£7.50): £42.55.

The same order on a 5% electronics product costs £2.75 in commission, leaving £52.25.

Creator affiliate commission

When an affiliate creator makes the sale, you pay them your chosen rate on the product price after discounts. Postage isn't part of it. Rates between 10% and 20% are typical. On a £20 scarf sold through a creator at 20%, the creator takes £4 and TikTok takes £1.80, so nearly 30% of the price goes before you count the product cost.

Fees TikTok doesn't publish clearly

Some charges are talked about in seller groups but aren't on TikTok's UK fee pages:

  • £0.50 per self-shipped order: reported by several agencies since July 2025, but not listed on any official UK Seller University page. The calculator leaves it out; if it appears on your statements, knock 50p off each payout.
  • New-seller rates: TikTok confirms a reduced commission for new sellers who complete onboarding missions, but doesn't publish the rate or how long it lasts.
Commission reductions can stack. Since March 2026, a reduction for running GMV Max ads (for example 3 points) can combine with other reductions, down to a minimum TikTok sets for the market.

Picking a price that covers TikTok Shop fees

A quick way to price: decide what you need to receive, then divide by 0.91 for a 9% product (ignoring postage). To receive £20, list at about £21.98. If you also pay a creator 15%, divide by 0.76 instead, which gives roughly £26.32. Postage the customer pays is also charged at 9%, so add a little to the postage price as well. For an exact figure, switch the calculator to "What price to list at" and type the payout or profit you're after.

Returns and refunds

If a whole order is returned, TikTok refunds the full commission. For partial refunds the refunded amount is taken out of the base, so you only pay commission on what the customer kept.
