StockX Fee Calculator: Seller Fees and Payout

StockX takes a transaction fee of 9% at Level 1, falling to 7% at Level 5, plus 3% payment processing and $5 to ship each sale in. Pick your level and price to see your payout.

What are the StockX seller fees?

A new seller on StockX in the US pays 12% of the sale price plus $5: a 9% transaction fee, a 3% payment processing fee, and $5 for shipping the item to StockX for verification. Sell a pair for $100 at Level 1 and your payout is $83.00.

The transaction fee drops as your seller level rises. The other two stay the same. Set your level and the sale price in this StockX fee calculator to get your payout, or switch to Flex if the item is already sitting in StockX's warehouse.

You can also use it as a StockX payout calculator in reverse. Choose "What price to list at", enter the payout you need, and it gives you the ask that gets you there after fees. Add what you paid for the pair and it shows profit, margin and ROI.

StockX payout at Level 1

Most people start at Level 1, so the table shows those numbers for standard sales shipped to StockX:

Sale priceTotal feesFees as % of priceYou receive
$50.00$11.5023.0%$38.50
$100.00$17.0017.0%$83.00
$150.00$23.0015.3%$127.00
$200.00$29.0014.5%$171.00
$300.00$41.0013.7%$259.00

Default settings, no sales tax, no optional fees.

The fee share is highest on cheap items for two reasons. The $5 shipping deduction is the same on a $50 hoodie as on a $300 pair of Jordans. And there's a $5 minimum on the transaction fee, which comes up next.

The $5 minimum seller fee

StockX sets a minimum seller fee of $5.00 in the US. At Level 1, 9% of the price only reaches $5 at about $55.56, so anything cheaper pays the $5 instead.

On a $40 sale at Level 1, that looks like this:

  • Transaction fee: 9% would be $3.60, so the $5.00 minimum applies
  • Payment processing: 3% of $40 = $1.20
  • Shipping to StockX: $5.00
  • Payout: $40 − $11.20 = $28.80

That's 28% gone. Low-priced items are where StockX fees hurt sellers most. At higher levels the minimum covers a wider range, since the percentage is lower: at Level 5 it applies to anything under about $71.43.

StockX's help page doesn't make clear whether the $5 minimum covers the transaction fee alone or the transaction and processing fees together. The calculator applies it to the transaction fee only. If StockX applies it to both combined, cheap sales would cost slightly less than shown.

StockX seller levels and how to move up

Your level is set by your sales in a calendar quarter. Hit either the sales count or the dollar amount and you move up:

LevelTransaction feeTo reach it in a quarter
Level 19%Starting level
Level 28.5%12 sales or $1,500
Level 38%40 sales or $5,000
Level 47.5%200 sales or $25,000
Level 57%800 sales or $100,000

Once you reach a level, you keep it for the rest of that quarter and the whole of the next one. Processing stays at 3% at every level.

The gap between levels is real money only at volume. On a $300 sale, Level 1 leaves you $259.00 and Level 5 leaves you $265.00. That $6 difference is small on one pair, but across 50 sales a quarter it's $300.

StockX shipping fee for sellers

For a standard US sale, StockX deducts $5.00 from your payout for shipping your item to its authentication center. That rate went up from $4 on March 1, 2026. It's the same for a single sale or a bulk shipment, but StockX says it can adjust shipping on heavy or multi-item packs.

The calculator always uses the base $5. If you're shipping something bulky, expect it might be higher.

Flex fees and storage

With Flex, you send inventory to StockX ahead of time and it ships straight to buyers. Since March 1, 2026, Flex transaction fees match the standard levels (9% to 7%), plus the same 3% processing. That change raised Flex fees by 2 points and dropped the old $5 Flex fulfillment fee and the 1% Flex Quick Sale discount.

A Flex sale doesn't have the $5 per-sale shipping deduction, so a $200 Flex sale at Level 1 pays $18.00 plus $6.00 and leaves $176.00. But you pay to ship the stock in, and US storage runs:

  • 0 to 30 days: free
  • 31 to 90 days: $1 per item per month
  • 91 to 180 days: $2 per item per month
  • 181 days and up: $3 per item per month

Flex also lists a $5 return fee per item. Flex suits stock that moves inside a month. Slow sellers can eat their savings in storage.

Fee-free selling on StockX

StockX also runs a Listings Marketplace and StockX Live, open to select sellers only. Neither charges the standard seller fees; the buyer pays processing and shipping instead. If you're not invited to those programs, the normal fees apply.

StockX or GOAT?

GOAT charges a 9.5% commission, a $5 seller fee and 2.9% to cash out, which lands within cents of StockX at Level 1. Higher StockX levels tip it toward StockX, while drop-off and keeping your balance on GOAT tip it the other way. The StockX vs GOAT comparison shows both payouts for your price, and the GOAT fee calculator has every GOAT option.

Common questions

How much does StockX take from a $200 sale?

At Level 1, $18.00 transaction fee, $6.00 processing and $5.00 shipping, so $29.00. Your payout is $171.00.

Does StockX charge sellers for shipping?

Yes. $5.00 per standard US sale is taken from your payout. Flex sales skip this, but you pay to send stock to the warehouse.

Is the StockX processing fee charged on top of the transaction fee?

Yes. The 3% processing fee is separate from the 9% to 7% transaction fee. StockX says the transaction fee is calculated on the sale price; it doesn't state the base for processing, so the calculator applies it to the sale price too.

Is StockX or Grailed cheaper for sellers?

On fees alone, Grailed usually leaves you more, since its commission tops out at 9% and there's no warehouse shipping charge. The Grailed fee calculator and the full comparison show the same price side by side.
